The Carbon Trust’s mission is to accelerate the move to a decarbonised future.
Climate pioneers for more than 20 years, they partner with leading businesses, governments and financial institutions to accelerate their route to Net Zero. The Carbon Trust have a global team of more than 400 environmental sustainability experts, including engineers, financiers and policy specialists, working with diverse industries and business sectors around the world.
In relation to hydrogen, the Carbon Trust provide the programme leadership and management for the Clean Hydrogen Innovation Programme (CHIP). CHIP is an industry-led, multi-year collaborative initiative to accelerate the development and deployment of clean hydrogen technologies in the UK through innovation. CHIP convenes hydrogen sector stakeholders to collectively:
- Assess groundbreaking innovations to enable clean hydrogen deployment at scale.
- Scope and design targeted research and development (R&D) projects to accelerate the commercialisation of key components required within the sector.
CHIP is funded by industry and supported by the UK Government’s Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. Current industry partners include Levidian, National Gas Transmission, Scottish Power and SSE.
