EnQuest
EnQuest is an integrated energy company focused on delivering energy to meet societal needs while pursuing decarbonisation opportunities.
Our purpose is to provide creative solutions through the energy transition, as we harness the creative and innovative thinking of our people to deliver safely while reducing our environmental impact as we all transition to a cleaner world.
EnQuest’s vision is to use renewable power to manufacture, over time, around one million tonnes a year of green hydrogen at our Shetland Islands facility in Sullom Voe. The Sullom Voe Terminal (‘SVT’) is well placed to develop synthetic fuels onsite which could help decarbonise local, national and international industries.
Through its Infrastructure and New Energy division, EnQuest’s new energy strategy is anchored in its unique infrastructure position, strong engineering, project management and subsurface capability, with development of world-scale hydrogen production a key focus. The SVT site offers several unique competitive advantages, including a 1,000-acre industrial site, a deep-water port with four jetties and a highly skilled workforce and local supply chain. Coupled with Shetland’s uniquely high wind capacity factors and the development of onshore and floating wind, a hydrogen production site at SVT would enable aggregation of stranded wind power as well as its conversion and storage into a stable energy source with a wide variety of uses.
In support of its ambitions, EnQuest is establishing partnerships with key stakeholders in Shetland, the UK and continental Europe, leveraging the infrastructure it owns and operates in and around Shetland.
